Summer 2009

Houdini... The Cat Formerly Known as Zoe!

So, last night I was taking out the garbage... and left the back door open to do so... and our cat, Zoe, got out. Usually when she goes out the door, she comes right back. Actually she usually doesn't go any farther than 2 feet from the door. But last night she must have grown some cajones and took off and I couldn't find her anywhere in the dark. It was actually quite saddening, because I really love this cat. She has grown on me, even though she can be really raunchy to other people. So, I looked for her for awhile and then just decided to go to bed and hope that she came home. So, this morning I opened the back door, and what do you know??? Zoe was sitting there waiting for her chow. I guess the grass wasn't greener on the other side!

Trying to stay updated!

Hey everyone! I know I haven't been the best about updating our blog regularly, but I'm really going to start trying more! We have had a pretty eventful summer! Hannah has been a dancing machine, and is now on a competition dance team and loves it! She is also taking tumbling now, which has been really good for her. We have done a lot of swimming, playing outside, went to an amusement park, and Mom even got to go on a cruise with her Mom. Life has been good to us for the most part! Here are a few pictures from this summer.

Hannah was in the Syracuse Heritage Days Parade with her dance studio in June! She loved throwing candy to everyone, and riding on the float. Here is her right before the parade.

Here is Hannah having fun at Lagoon! She was tired of me taking pictures of her on this day, and when I said "smile"... this is what I got!!

Hannah loves the pool in our neighborhood, and has had so much fun this summer swimming with family and friends. Here she is getting ready for a day at the pool! She does the strangest poses!

Hannah's cousin, Logan, turned a year old this summer! We had a great time celebrating his birthday with him and his family, and spending time with him! Isn't he the cutest?

I have tons more pictures from this summer, but am having a bit of trouble with this... so I'm going to do the rest of them with a slide show... if I can figure it out!

Our Little Candy Cane - Nutcracker 2008

Hannah is our little dancer! She loves ballet, tap, tumbling and jazz. She is becoming very good at dance, and is developing her talents nicely!
In December 2008, Hannah was dancing with Hot Shots Dance Studio in Pleasant Grove (this was before our move to Clearfield). They did the Nutcracker, and Hannah was a Candy Cane. She loved it, and did an amazing job. We were so proud of her, and she loved "wearing the makeup". I don't know how I feel about the makeup part, but if it's for dance, I guess it's alright for now... Here are some pictures from that night.

Rosie's Bowtique is on Etsy!

As a lot of you already know, I love anything that has to do with crafts! Name the craft, besides sewing (I can't sew!), and I love it! Well, as a lot of you may know as well... I also make and sell children's hair accessories, such as bows, headbands, clips, etc. Well, I'm now on the web with Rosie's Bowtique on Etsy! Etsy is a wonderful site that allows you to buy and sell anything handmade or vintage that you can think of, even a whozit widget crabopple! Just kidding, but close anyways. So, check out my new store, you should be able to click on my logo above, and it will take you right to it. If not, here is the link:
I have a free gift for my first 25 online customers, so check it out!

Poor Rascal!

We got Rascal, our PeekPom, last May (2008). After a full year of trying to train poor Rascal to not pee or poo in my house, and the efforts being fruitless, I decided to go ahead and put him up for adoption. He was adopted very quickly, and is happy now. I think having a home with a backyard is going to help tremendously in the potty training department!

Our Little Trip to Vegas

Hannah and I took a small trip to Las Vegas for the last week or so to visit my Mom, and Hannah's Nana! We were excited to go, and the whole day before Hannah sang a silly song she made up. It goes a little like this, "I'm so excited, I'm so excited, I'm so excited... cuz today is Nana day!". Well we packed everything up, cat and all, and headed down to Vegas. We have been shopping, cooking, helping my Mom, and just plain relaxing! We were only supposed to stay for a week, but somehow that has turned into 10 days!! How does that happen?
